Travelled down 50 miles or so by train from Sydney on Thursday to stay for a couple of days with old friend and Reuters colleague Julian Linden and his wife Vanessa and three children Georgia, Sophie and Harry.
Poor weather on day one cut visibility on the hills above to less than 20 metres but weather improved a bit later and on the evening Julian and I nipped down to the dog track at Dapto 15 minutes away. Julian backed two winners which was two more than me and I still await my first success of 2009 !
Weather much better on Friday and Julian and I went for 2 hour bike ride along the foreshore. Great to be back on the bike again. Later Julian drove Jean and me on excellent tour of region.(see Jean’s blog above) Dave
