HAPPY NEW YEAR - mixed emotions!

The cruise in Sydney Harbour, looking at all of the lights ashore and on other vessels, the sights of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge made an evening to remember, never mind the firework display itself, which was spectacular! Expensive trip, but well worthwhile. We were served with canapes and drinks all evening and really loved the whole experience. Great!

I was considering writing this part of the blog when we returned to our room in the early hours and would have included some lovely photos to go with the report, but I'm afraid we were met with chaos in our room, which had been burgled, along with three others at the motel.

The laptop has gone, of course, so blogging will not be done with ease any more. Other missing items are my Ipod, Dave's phone, all my chargers for a variety of equipment and all my jewellery, including birthday present from Tina and new items gathered along the way. All of this is upsetting but most of it is replaceable, although much of the jewellery had nostalgic value. What isn't replaceable is my first full camera card with photos from the States, Perth and the first week or so in New Zealand.

Hey ho! At least we weren't attacked - it's only material goods.
